Cougars in Blaine

Recommended Posts

My wife and I were driving on 109th by the Blaine City Hall on Saturday morning about 7:30 and right in the road 100 yards in front of us were 2 Cougars.I slammed on the brakes and they let us get about 50 feet or so from them and went running off into the woods but stopped and looked back at us before going in. One was large and the other slightly smaller but both looked very healthy. Nice way to start out the morning.

Talked to a friend of mine this am that lives in the Sanctuary development in the area and he has seen a few half eaten deer in the woods where he walks his labs. I told him to start bringing along his pistol on those walks.

I saw the same two at the club the night before.

At buca di beppo sitting at the bar? grin

I think the cougars are pretty much all over given all the sightings in the past couple years. They even had one wandering around in NE on St Anthony Pkwy not that long ago. Its not that big of a deal. They got plenty of deer to eat (maybe they will eat them before I hit them with my car).

I was out coon hunting the fall, and I heard a very loud screech/growl, I was told by the land owner that he has seen big cat tracks in the fields during harvest. I was a little concerned he didnt tell me this earlier.
