The Shack Attack was an extremely good time. The place was

packed and the array of donated items was something to see.

It was nice meet some fellow HSO folks. There were a few I

didn't get to talk to. Soon, I hope.

Congratualations to all of the Shack supporters who put so

much work into this sweet event!

I met the man himself and he is doing remarkably good for

what he has been through. Shack IS Back !

Thanks for the nice afternoon.

I also met a bunch of guys that I've only known through these posts. Did I meet you tweed? You one of those "cat" guys?

Really happy for Shack and his family that it was such a big success. Happy to be a small part of it.

I had hoped to make it up there this afternoon, but other things got in the way.

Glad to hear the turnout was great. Definitely a great showing of support of fellow HSO members in organizing the event and in attendance.

Best of all, Shack is still with us.

Sorry I couldn't make it Josh. Keep on fighting the good fight. wink

A great group of people came together to get it all organized and the turnout was tremendous. Like the emcee said, times are tough, but look how many people came out, look how many people stepped up to donate, organize, etc....It was great meeting some new HSO members and visiting with some of the older ones. I was lucky enough to win an IDI guide shirt donated by Pro Fishing Supply. Thanks Dave. The basketball rube in me came out during the live auction and I scored a four pack of lower level seats to see watch Johnny Flynn, Big Al, and the Timberwolves secure lottery positioning in the John Wall sweepstakes.

Saw a couple very nice prizes get bid up as well. The Twins Opening Day Tickets that DonBo gave and the Sweet Fishing Rod made and donated by Capt. Fireman were both awesome prizes that fetched a bunch of money.

Yes, that rod from Andy and Midwest Rod & Reel was a marvelous work of art. I am very glad it went to someone who will cherish it for what it is. It will only see the a display case or mounting on the wall is what I was told. I love the added touch they put on the butt of the handle. wink

The event was an awesome time and a huge success. I had so much fun and did not want it to end. smile I met so many people I have not seem in awhile, met a few I wanted to meet (some great members here) and just had fun with people I love, respect, and even some I admire. Gordie did a killer job overseeing the all day raffle area. grin Thanks a ton bud!

I was way to busy meeting, greeting, and talking with guests, I never got to run the video camera. Luckily my 13 year old son was able to get some footage. It is a little shaky, but shot in a 13 year old's perspective:

This was early and as the evening went on the place was packed. The live auction was great and some great deals where had. The whole thing was great and went as smooth as anything could. smile

I would personally like to thank everyone who donated items, donated their time, who came to the event, and who has expressed their support for my family and I. I know this can not be expressed as much as I would like it to be threw a post on the internet, but I just want to say Thank You from the bottom of my heart. smile

I was honored to meet many who I only knew threw posting & threads from HSO. When my boat, hunting trip, or shack has an open place, any and all of you are welcome. To those of you who I have meet and fished with from this site, it was great to see you guys their. The catfish group here was in full effect and that meant so much to me. You all made this one of the greatest get togethers I have been involved in.

Thanks again all! smile

    • got this tackled today took about 3 hours to get both sides done. Didnt even get to use a torch....   Thought I was golden with just jacking it up and I could get to everything but no luck. Had to remove the entire axle hub and brake assembly to get to what I needed. Was a pain but still better then taking off the entire pivot arm.    Axle bearings were already greased and in great shape thankfully. Got both leaf springs installed and its ready for the road again.   Probably going to have my electric brakes checked, I am not touching anything with the brake drums. Based on what I saw it doesn't look like my electric brakes have been working anyway. Brakes are nice to have if its slippery out
    • By The way that didn't work either!! Screw it I'll just use the cellular.
    • It’s done automatically.  You might need an actual person to clear that log in stuff up.   Trash your laptop history if you haven’t tried that already.
    • 😂 yea pretty amazing how b o o b i e s gets flagged, but they can't respond or tell me why I  can't get logged in here on my laptop but I can on my cellular  😪
    • I grilled some brats yesterday, maybe next weekend will the next round...
    • You got word censored cuz you said        B o o b ies….. haha.   Yeah, no… grilling is on hiatus for a bit.
    • Chicken mine,  melded in Mccormick poultry seasoning for 24 hours.  Grill will get a break till the frigid temps go away!
    • we had some nice weather yesterday and this conundrum was driving me crazy  so I drove up to the house to take another look. I got a bunch of goodies via ups yesterday (cables,  winch ratchet parts, handles, leaf springs etc).   I wanted to make sure the new leaf springs I got fit. I got everything laid out and ready to go. Will be busy this weekend with kids stuff and too cold to fish anyway, but I will try to get back up there again next weekend and get it done. I don't think it will be bad once I get it lifted up.    For anyone in the google verse, the leaf springs are 4 leafs and measure 25 1/4" eye  to eye per Yetti. I didnt want to pay their markup so just got something else comparable rated for the same weight.   I am a first time wheel house owner, this is all new to me. My house didn't come with any handles for the rear cables? I was told this week by someone in the industry that cordless drills do not have enough brake to lower it slow enough and it can damage the cables and the ratchets in the winches.  I put on a handle last night and it is 100% better than using a drill, unfortatenly I found out the hard way lol and will only use the ICNutz to raise the house now.
