St. Paul show Jan 13 thru 15th

Just seeing whos heading down to the show... I will be working the Musky Mayhem booth stop by and say hi if your down there. Alot of changes to the show this year, should be changes for the better I would think. Have fun and good luck this weekend!

Not a muskie show, there are 2 stores(Reeds, ThorneBrothers) who are giving up some great deals on rods and reels.. Saw some good deals on northland walleye jigs in a booth, as well as Rapala minnow type baits that were 3-$10. Saw a booth that had OutKast bass Jigs for 3 for $6.. didnt get to see the whole thing as I was working. Its not the huge MPLS show, but still a good way to waste a few hours..

I can try and check for you tonight.. ThorneBrothers did bring a bunch of muskie baits, and there were a couple other muskie boothes..

I think Thornes has their bulldawgs there... I know they have all the medussa's and think the bulldawgs are right next to those. As for it just being muskie no.... There are lots of resorts and then the other tackle companies that Deitz said!

Yeah there are some.... I would say a 1/3 of the first floor is camping rigs... The third floor is resorts and other tackle companies... second floor is boats and docks and the other part of the 1st floor are tackle companies!

I was there yesterday. Not a huge show but nice to get out. The Bikini team was there. I also am woking a deal with a boat dealer. Keep you eye on my avatar!

Renigged and went today. Disappointment for the amount spent: Parking= $10; show= $7.00 (with discount); time there= 2 hours.

No factory reps for Lowrance, Humminbird, Minn Kota, etc. Wanted to check out the latest from them. Guess I could have asked the guys at Reeds. Also no Lakemaster, or Navionics guys there.

Nice to get out anyway on such a spring like day, but I won't go again. However, I will go to the camping show and the NW Sportshow.

WIWF I would have to agree. Normally I defend anything outdoors, but this show just did not seem to have the pizazz as the Midwest at the convention center does. I think it might be because of how it is set up. If you do not know the River Center, look at the map, came in by the trout pond, you could miss the top level all together. I did not buy anything, but my kids had fun! That is all that matters.

The kids bow & arrow shoot was a hit ($2.00), the hunters education both shooting video games over by the Wall of Shame was another hot item (free), and then the wild animal display was something we had to bring the kids back a couple times for (free). One of the best for the kids was the Shamwow booth? (free)

FYI, you get down to one of these before 2:00-3:00 pm on the Saturday, the parking is half price. I am sure it was because of Brad P, but after 3:00 the parking lot fee's doubled.

Not 100% true.. Navionics was there, had a booth in the same isle as Reeds.. had 2 staffers there the whole time.

I guess I stand corrected on them. Still not worth a return trip for me. Glad some folks enjoyed it however

I was in chicago at a sport show at the same time, but I talked to a couple of other resorters that displayed at the st. paul show and they were very disapointed with the whole show. It seems that the show goes down a bit each year, from what it sounds like they won't be back.

The diawas I wanted were $25 more at the show than the normal price at my local store

Yeah, I've run into price hikes like that before. However, I know there are some good deals at the big show in the spring. By late Saturday, they are lowering prices on stuff because they don't want to take it back with them.

2thepoint--Did you ask an employee working the booth.. THe prices you saw on the tags were not the prices they were selling them for. They can not advertise the prices they sell at shows as many of the products are M.A.P. pricing.. but if you ask or bargain with them they will often move from those prices. Just a thought.. I know at this last show, both Reeds and Thornes were going at least 10% if not more on many of the reels.
