I cant see him leaving USC for anything. He has it made there, he gets to pick between the top recruits in the nation to give scholorships to and then he still gets 4star guys to walk on and hes built a rep that when kids come there they are almost garunteed they will get a chance in the NFL. His team is winning national chamionships at a crazy rate and there always nationally ranked. Hes basically the king of sunny southern cal and has a great winning program in place to win for many years.

Oh and he doesnt have a team owner or GM to answer to, plus hes already been through the NFL and had that experience and crazy unstable pressure of being a head coach in the NFL. I dunno, I could be way off on this but I really dont see any amount of money or another coaching job taking Pete Carroll away from USC at all. Just my 2 cents......

Money talks, but I don't think he is suited for the nfl. He knows how to teach the kids how to play the game and how to be nfl ready upon graduation. He tried coaching two nfl teams and didn't do that well. Seemed like he was in over his head. Maybe having some college coaching success has changed him and he feels he can do better this time around. If it were me I would stay where I was at. He has everything going for him and he doesn't have to deal with professional egos. Like it was said earlier blue chip players walk on he hardly has to do any recruiting.

Pete Carroll leaves USC just in time

- Pete Carroll is leaving town. Carroll is heading to Seattle and will reportedly replace the recently fired Jim Mora as head coach of the Seahawks. Most people are convinced that with the lack of GM currently in Seattle, this will provide Pete with the opportunity to fully run the show, something is has become very much accustom to during his tenure at USC.

Maybe more importantly though, this gives Pete a ticket out of town before the hammer falls on that program. Think about it. Last week the school comes out and punishes the basketball program for NCAA infractions in regards to O.J. Mayo. Odds are Pete heard of similar punishments heading his way. Between all the talk of what Reggie Bush got when he was at USC and this year's controversy surrounding Joe McKnight, somebody is eventually going to be punish and now it darn sure isn't going to be Carroll.

Pete is basically taking of the role of the kid at the high school party who hears that the cops are showing up, doesn't really tell anybody, and slips out the back door just before that door bell rings and the questions as to who bought the Natty Ice start flying around.Pete sliding out the door just before the NCAA shows up and starts laying down the law.

All the allegations and such towards USC is the only reason I can see him leaving. Otherwise he would be crazy to leave that place! He wants the offensive coordinator to come with him to seattle, so who takes over at USC? And when carrol gets fired after 2 or 3 seasons in seattle, where does he go?

He should have been fired a long time ago for running a "loose" program. The "allegations" are real and will blow-up the whole SC program. He's not crazy, he's just running away from sanctions and all the embarrassment that is comming to the University...call that what you will. whistle

With no q-back in Seattle, he will get fired in 2-3 seasons and "retire" with 35 million in his bank account...probably end up doing what he did for the National Championship game and become the 500th analyst to break down a game on national t.v.

He is 58 yrs old so I'm sure that he looks at this as his last big payday. He'll stay with seattle for as long as they let him, take his 35 mil and head to the anylyst booth just like zepman said.
