What is jiffy running in their auger these days for an engine?

A USA designed Jiffy engine.

it says made in china on it. but jiffy is takeing credit for enginering it.

I cant see a brand, only a little sticker with some language i cant read and a made in china. my auger seems to run good. It spins faster than any auger i have seen. nice no spill gas cap.no flood primer. time will tell.

Jiffy would have been much better off if they had stated that their auger engine was USA designed and left the Made in China sticker off of it. Works for other brands.

I know a rep for Jiffy augers and he says that the EPA's guidelines for small gas enginse were so restrictive that they could not produce them in the US affordably anymore. Therefore, they had to outsource the engines to China.

techumseh went out of buisness and now they are putting chinese engines on there... if anyone knows how to get parts for these engines let me know

buy a strikemaster. thats the only way to go.

I talked to a tech at jiffy about my flighting on my auger, seemed very helpful and is shipping me a new auger. I have to return the defective auger. the jiffy 2500 lightning is light and seems well balanced. I understand people want to cut holes fast but i think the auger spins too fast but that is just me. I am never in that big of hurry when i am fishing
