Looking at new Yamaha Generator..any info??

I am looking at new generators for the house. Everyone has a honda 2000. I was wondering if anyone has used a Yamaha or heard of anything. I was looking at a 2400

We borrowed a Yammy suitcase generator (1000w) for a trip up to Red Lake and was really impressed with it. Quiet, smooth, and I think it was good on gas.

The Yamaha's are good, but have had better luck with real old starts with Hondas

I have heard alot of good things about the yamaha's with the ppl who have them.

I have heard a Yamaha 1000 and a Honda 1000 side by side and they are the same as far as noise level. Very quiet. The Yamaha runs just a little longer on a tank of gas...but not much.

I used them both, like them both and could reccomend either one. For me it came down to a power outage this spring during the flood, and I needed a genny fast to run the sump pump. Off to Northern tool and they had a EU2000i in stock, so I bought a honda. If it would have been the yamaha, I would have bought that one also without hesitation.

Not much difference in size, price, or noise level. Yamaha does make a 2400 which falls between the Honda 2000 and 3000 in capacity. If you like to camp the 2400 should run a 13,500 ac on a trailer. The Honda 2000 may not especially at higher elevations. You like red or blue? That's about the only difference I found.
