flasher interference ?

Ryan_V

Question

I have a vex, and my buddy has a marcum....his interferes with mine quite badly, but mine has no effect on his. it's almost to the point that I can't use mine when I fish with him, which is most of the time.

I cycle through all the IR settings but it doesn't help. Is there anything else I can do? Would it help if I tried to trade the Vex for a marcum??? would 2 marcums interfere with each other?

We've had a FL-8, FL-18 and LX3 in the same house and it worked. It took a bit of all of us hitting the IR until we got it right. What Vex do you have? I may have a buyer ifn' its the FL-18.

I ran out to the lake last year right after I bought my Marcum LX3. I was with 2 other guys. One had a new FL20 and the other an older FL8. The FL20 got his interference down to a tolerable level, but there was still interference. But the FL8 was basically un-usable.

I'd go with a new Marcum if I were you...of course after owning one, I'm a bit biased.

We've had 2 FL-8 and an LX3 all running at the same time without much interference. A big key is to have the Vex transducer hanging at least 6" deeper than the the Marcum. The Marcums seem to create a lot of noise at the line between ice and water.
