I am really looking forward to these presentations.

There is a crowd of 20,000 usually.

This is the biggest fishing show in Wisconsin.

There are many impressionable children at the Expo.

There is even a trout pond.

Most fishing shows in wisconsin like the badger and tu shows are

for the adults that are already anglers.

These kids at the EXPO could be the next generation of trout anglers.

I will be focusing on the kids that already fish for pan fish and walleye.

The ones with the rigs that will work perfectly for small stream trout.

I will be speaking on responsive harvest but NOT strict catch and release.

Lots of kids just waiting to have the right adult show them the way.

I know you and I don't agree on a number of issues, but I do agree that kids should be able to harvest some fish. If they have a good mentor to show them how to catch fish so they have fun, they will be more interested in learning about clean water and conservation when they get a bit older.

Good for you Len. Try to be the spark that gets kids interested. I personally have seen kids who think ya gotta go up north to fish, they don't even realize the best trout fishing in the state is a half hour away. My advice would be try to make it look fun, leave some of the tech stuff out.

Good luck

For the first time I can remember there will be NO Trout Unlimited Booth at The Madison Fish Expo

Contacted the guys that regularly man the booth and this what they said.

I don’t think that is an oversight. The “leadership” decided the Expo wasn’t mission critical plus it’s hard to get volunteers, so there you go.

Hope you are well,

Admin SWTU

The biggest fishing show in wisconsin and the by far

biggest amount of children at a show and not mission critical.

Bring lots of photos of Anna and her big fish. Also explain to kids that big trout like you and Joe get are RARE. The more shock data I look at, the more I realize any trout 15" or greater is LARGE, at least here in the Driftless.

That must mean that the "mission" to turn everyone into a "non-bait fisherman" has been put on hold. Those crafty TU guys must be up to something? crazy

Contacted two of my friends that are TU Presidents from other chapters and tried to get them to do the booth and neither has the volunteer power to commit to the Expo.

Contacted my buddy who does TU Dare and he said it truly was a shame that there would be no TU Presence at the Expo.
