I went and bought a cattle fatigue mat, it was white and about .5" thick.....last year they had 4ft wide pieces but this year all they had left were 3ft wide. So i had to do a side by side set up.......i will take pics tomorrow and post them up

I found a precut roll about 30" wide and 60" long of black anti-fatigue mat at one of the bix box hardware stores. It's solid, though, and I just keep it under our feet, and the holes get placed at the far edge. Seems to stay pliable for rolling in the cold, too.

I took a piece of 3/8 plywood, cut it to size for my fish trap, cut four square holes spaced as far apart as possible while leaving enough foot room and comfortable distance for jigging, cut the piece twice and hinged it together so it folds up in three pieces. Then, I painted it white for additional lighting when its dark. I fold it up and bungy strap it to my fish house and away I go. It works great, keeps me of the ice and above the water when my heater starts to melt down the ice.

I was thinking of flooring for my portable as I was walking the aisles of menards the other day. Carpet squares and fatigue mats all seem to make the most sense. Then I came upon some of that thick pink foam home insulation that comes in a 4 by 8 sheet. I think it was about 1 1/2" inches thick. If somehow a guy could hinge it in the middle it would be somewhat portable, probably wouldn't fit in the sled that well, but it would fit in the back of the pickup once we start driving out. But it seems it would add a nice layer of insulation between your feet and the ice, and would easily be cut for holes. Granted it probably wouldn't last for more than one season at $6 a sheet I am going to try it out.
