Mount Baker, WA & Northern Harriers & Chickadee

I took advantage of some sunny (but cold!) weather we've been having to go look for some short eared owls...didn't see hide nor feather of them. Mount Baker was out in all its glory though

The Northern Harriers were out a bit, but none came very close, this was as close as they got:

This is a panorama of the area where the hawks were flying, the mountain is behind me in this series, part of Puget Sound is out of the frame off the left side.

John, I've been to the area. Cascade's , Olympias, and the Sound. What a beautiful place. The Baker shot is great. Turn us on to one of those Chestnut backed Chickadee's if you get a chance.

You live in a beautiful part of the world for sure. I have a friend in Bellingham and have visited a few times. He moved there so he could ski, and fish year round.

What a cool place to get out explore. I like both of those Harrier shots. Have you ever tried to hide in the weeds and use a mouse squeaker to get them in closer ?
