Found a birdy hotspot!

While driving thru a tiny town just 8 miles from here, I saw a couple flashes of red. It was a couple cardinals. There was a large feeder in the front yard of the house and I couldn't believe the activity around it. In the couple times I've been there I've seen several cardinals, blue jays, hairy, down and red-bellied woodpeckers, chickadees, nuthatches, sparrows and a eurasian collared dove. I use my car as a blind and wait for them to present a decent view. It's not as easy as it sounds, due to all the branches. Here are a few of my better ones.

Last one is very cool with the cardinal looking on. And the second has some heart in it.

All those birds look like they are at a Head Banger Concert. Probably Joan Jett. Nice shots, I really like the 2nd Cardinal, a true adult! Keep Em coming!

I don't think I have ever seem a Red-Belly.

Jim, the red-bellieds have been expanding their range north. We get them regularly at the lake near Bemidji, and they are seen in your area now and then. They do love their suet.

Makes me wonder how many times I just thought to myself that it was a Flicker when in reality it might very well have been a Red-Belly. When riding down the bike trail they get up so far in front of you it is very possible to make the wrong ID.

Them cardinals are way cool.I have not seen one in the summer...let alone winter.Very nice shots.
