Black_Bay
I think Pitt and Notre Dame are the 2 most likely additions. No one is leaving a conference that already had 12 teams. Notre Dame already plays at least 3 teams from the Big 10 every year anyway. They could still play 4 non conference games with their tradtional rivals BC, USC, Pitt, and Navy. They have a pretty fair hockey team too. They could call the conference the Big North and split the teams into east and west divisions. so haaad
Notre Dame is too high on themselves to be a part of anything. But I do like the idea of adding another team to the Big Ten-eleven and ultimately have a championship game.
CJH
Pitt and ND make the most sense, but ND won't join anything until they can't get a good TV contract on their own. If they could convince Pitt, that would be a great move. I would love to see something a little to the west, but there isn't really anything there until you get too far. Remember any team they add, they want to add a new market to help with their TV deal/network and aid in recruiting to the conference. JBMasterAngler
Pittsburgh won't leave the big east, they have it made there! With brian kelly leaving cincinnati, that leaves pittsburgh to win the big east every year and go to the BCS. Why would they want to leave that behind and have to compete for a spot in the BCS in the big ten? I like the big north Big east only has 8 teams anyway, they aren't likely to give up anyone. They need to expand more than the big ten does.
