Fred_Bear
Just messed my ankle up in hockey and was told I will be wearing a walking boot for the next 3 or 4 weeks. My ice season consists of fishing every day of my 4 week holiday break from school and now that's getting cut in half. Anyone ever conquer a problem like this for ice fishing without driving out on the ice. I think I might be okay once I can drive a snowmobile out but I don't know how I'll do it on a walk out trip. And it looks like driving a truck on the ice is still out of the picture for awhile.Any ideas how I could keep my foot with the walking boot dry and warm?? JigginIsLife
One of those huge boot warmers things you put over your boots, i know they are not made for walking but it will keep your foot warm, maybe you can throw some duct tape over the bottom or something

SP180
Buy yourself a pair of tall winter hunting boot. (cabelas 8 point at about 90 dollars). They will keep your feet warm and provide much of the same support that a walking boot will since they are a little stiff due to all the padding and thick soles. fuzzyray
When I was a kid my dad torn his Achilles tendon and was in a full leg cast. Me and my sister pulled him around in a sled! (not much snow that year)We only had a hand auger back then and we were to little to use it. It was pretty amazing watching my dad struggle though cutting holes in that thing just so we could fish.
