Agronomist_at_IA
Lake is a little over 1,000 acres Depth goes from 9' on the middle ring to 8', 7', & 6' by shore. It's basicly a bowl. I've caught a few fish on this lake but never really had a lot of luck.
deadeye
I would try both of the inside bends of that point. The weedline would probably be the best place to start since most small shallow lake walleyes relate to weeds like bass.
JohnMickish
I'm guessing this lake does not have the best of water clarity so I would also guess that the weedline would be relativly shallow. I would just try and find any kind of structure, wheather it be a change from muck to sand, sand to gravel or a sunken football helmet. Anything that is different will concentrate baitfish and predator fish. Drill a ton of holes, study the sonar and use a camera if you can. Also, look at the inlet but be careful of the ice if there is any real moving water.
jwmiller33
is that a little river or stream flowing into it on the NW side? if so, i'd fish infront of or around that inflow of water. what lake is this? are you sure there are numbers of walleye in there?
deadeye
The weeds might be shallow, but if they go to 4-5 feet thats all the deeper it needs to go to hold fish. If the weeds are not there or dont go that deep, I would still try the inside bends of that point. If one has a transition on it even better. The one on the SW corner would be where I would start since there is connecting water close to it.

Agronomist_at_IA
Right in the middle, pound the bottom with a spoon and keep an eye on the deadstick. Didn't fish it last year but two years ago I tried exactly what you said and got the big Skunk. Went to this lake about 4 times that year. Came home with One 12 inch perch on my first time out, had a huge pike break the line once, and had a nice walleye bite my brothers spoon and the line broke. It's kind of like my nemesis lake. It has a great population of walleye's, and I caught a few nice ones on open water, but come ice season it screws me every time.Heck Esox_Magnum this lake isn't to far from you, I'm suprised you've never fished it. Casey Sunsdahl
Weed's or current
Agronomist_at_IA
Weed's or currentI don't think there is much of a current, but there does get to be a good stand of weeds along the edges of the lake in about the 3-4 foot range if I can remember. Also, I think there is an airation system on the west side.
KTapper
I know what lake it is. I have never fished it but I have heard it has been pounded since 05 and the number of fish is down but there is still potential there. Just not getting the numbers like it used too. markharo
was or is this a Dnr rearing pond, some years they are good and others they have a pretty good winter kill. i would keep trying it and dont tell anyone if you get some, alot of those lakes get destroyed when the web gets ahold of their secret
KTapper
This lake is not a rearing pond and by no means a secret. I hope to make one trip out there this winter.

I know there is good fishing to be had on the lake, and durring open water just trolling around the thing in a circle worked great. However, on ice it is a Bi@#$
Agronomist_at_IA
KtapperIs there anywhere close to get minnows by the lake. Closest I could find was the guy named Marv'
Agronomist_at_IA
and by no means a secret. I hope to make one trip out there this winter. The first time I ever went Ice fishing, I had just got my shack and went to this lake with my brother & cousin. Not knowing anything, we pulled up with the pickup and it was covered with about 200 people. Went back the next weekend, and there was only one other guy out there. delta hunter
the map u have there is way out of date. Go under the MN DNR Rec. Compass and zoom in on the lake. Look for small changes in depth and transition areas.

JohnMickish
If there is an areation system in the lake, fish near the system. The oxygen level will be highest in that part of the lake. Of course this will come with the obvious dangers involved.
PerchJerker
Punch holes, check them with your flasher, fish them for only a short time, and move to the next hole if there's no action. I'd focus on the basin, maybe the weedline if there is one, and any changes in bottom content if you know of any. It looks and sounds like a classic situation for roaming fish, so you need to go find them unless you're willing to wait (and hope) for them to find you. Drill, drill, drill and drill some more. Use your electronics and keep moving.
