walleyeslayer18
I was wondering where i could pick up two mattresses or foam that would be comfortable for the bunks in the fish house and have it be a decent price! i need a 25.5" or 25" x 72" long. any suggestions?! markharo
well, the cost of foam these days are fairly high, becaue of cost of oil, but compared to two years ago, you should be alot better then what i paid. In brooklyn park, if you go north from 694 on county road 81, on the right hand side a mile or so, there is a big yellow sign that says FOAM. This guy makes and sells alot of foam and mattress for guys fish houses. Really nice guy and has a ton of different thicknesses, and densities of foam. He will make them one piece what ever size you need. Either you can just get the foam and have your wife or someone sew a fabric cover(my mom did this for me, made it with a zipper on the back side, and out of almost soft couch material), or you can pay him and he can sew a material on the foam just like a mattress. The foam i bought, with the material cover on it, is awesome. I swear i can sleep on it better then my bed at home. And if you are just sitting on it like a couch, it still is very comfortable. let me know if you need more info. you wouldnt be disappointed. markharo
i had three pieces made, one was a triangle 7'6" x 8' x 9', another 2'6" wide by 7'6", and one 2'6" x 4'. all of them were 4 inches thick and i cant remember the density, but it was the one one size firmer then what most guys buy. i would recommend the one firmer density. Two years ago all three of those pieces were around $320 bucks or so. like i said though, i would check him out and get a quote, the prices are directly related to what the oil per barrel cost is, so todays prices will be a bit cheaper then what i paid. im not sure of the name of the place or a phone number, but i know he is still there and open. AndyM
My sister bought some foam in waterville last year for my uncles bunks in his fish house. not sure of the price but they said they got a good deal. I don't know the name of the place, but you could look up upholstery in waterville area. That would be a little closer than princeton for you. 3pronghook
foam by mail free shipping too. i have the 4" lux foam on my bunk and on the dinnette/bed. im 230 lbs and i do not bottom out when laying or sitting on the stuff. it will arrive tightly bound in a box about 1/3 size youd expect. open it up right away. it takes a few days to expand tocomplete full size
walleyeslayr
Milaca unclaimed freight has mattresses for fish houses. They have 2 different widths- 24" and 30" I think. Reasonably priced.
bassislife
I have built a few fish houses and used both Milacas and Fish House Supply's. Fish House Supply's are much firmer and are well worth the few dollars more.
