Mathews Monster????

Does anybody own one of these or shot one of these bows? I am looking at buying one, But would like to hear the pro's and con's first.

It's called a "McPherson Monster". Matt McPherson, owner of the company said that people wanted a flat out speed bow, so here it is. He was so not impressed with speed for the sake of speed that he would not put the Mathews name on it.

That's all I need to know.

Okay here is the deal. I have shot this bow many times and it is a smooth draw but there is decent arc you have to get over right before the wall. Other than that it's smooth. The bow, as advertised, is so wicked fast you won't even believe it. It its your first bow I wouldn't advise it because it can be an intimidating bow. But if you have pleanty of experience with archery its a great bow with the most power the industry has ever seen!

If you are looking for a speed bow there are many options.

I thought the monster was a bit heavy and liked the X force better. A friend really likes his though and seems to have success with it.

I prefer a easy drawing and more forgiving bow myself and dont care all that much about speed.

Go give a few bows a try and dont let anyone else tell you what to buy.

They just came out with the Monster 7 more brace height then the previous. See what it feels like.

I havne't shot any of the Monsters but the new 7" would be the only one I'd even consider shooting. I'm waiting for a Z7 LD to come out - maybe next year.
