Moonie
I posted this in the duluth regional forum and not getting any feedback yet... figured I'd try here as well: Looking for campsites near the boulder lake, fish lake, island lake area north of Duluth. I think I remember one on Island lake off of 4. Anyone know who to contact for that one? any other ideas will help as well. Thanks.

nofishfisherman
There are several islands to camp on. They are first come first serve but they are nice sites. I think most of them you'd have an island to yourself. At least I know fish lake has these sites and they are marked on a map at each of the landings. Surface Tension
Island Beach went out of business years ago. Island and Fish lake both have a few boat to campsites on the lake. There are maps at boat landings with the location of those sites. They are first come first served and fill up fast. Hi Banks Resort on Fish Lake has a campground. On Island Lake the United Northern Sportsmen Club has camping but you'll need to be a member. There was talk of a new campground next to Island Lake but I don't think it has been started yet. If you go travel further NE there is a USFS campground on Whiteface along with a private campground. Next USFS Campground would be on Cadotte Lake. OutlawTorn
Membership to the sportsmans club was something to the tune of 20 bucks when I looked into it a couple years ago. There is plenty of public land in that area if you dont need to be by the lake - just plop the tent down off the beaten path, light a fire and enjoy the woods.
