Ice Rod Setups: Not another Ford vs. Chevy Thread!!!!

McGurk

Recommended Posts

Theoretical Scenario: You can ONLY bring (2) rod/reel setups and (1) tip-up while ice fishing for a mixed bag (you are only allowed to retie the exact same lure). The lake has average clarity, and the species include panfish, walleye, and the possibly pike that swims by. Simple question; What do you pick?

I want to hear them all, from the bait shop special to the top-dollar individually-sourced monster rig. Please include rod, reel, line, and lure, and tip-up brand, line, leader, and lure.

Rod #1, is my own home made panfish rod. Nearest rod to it would be a Thorne Sweetheart. It has a shimano sahara 500 size and 3 lb Gamma Ice line. Tied to it would be a marmooska size 8.(orange/yellow)

Rod #2 Thorne Walleye Sweetheart. Rattle Varmit in Perch Color. 6lb Gamma ice line. Shimano Sedona 750 size.

I dont use a tip up often.
