BEST DIRECTION TO FACE DOOR//PERM HOUSE .MILLELACS??

What seems to be the best direction to face the door on MilleLacs.. Opens from left..This will be my first year with permanent on the lake..

I think I remember you saying your going to be on the east side of the lake. If thats the case, face the door east. Most strong winds are from the north/west during the winter. Even south winds wont blow into your door. I noticed the resort never positiones my perm door to the north or west.

I agree with RG...Door facing east is the best option.

I'd worry more about your heater vent, I'd face that to the south, so mother nature isn't blowing the exhause back into the house with those W/NW/N winds that whip the ?!@#% out of Mille lacs in the winter!! Guys have died in fish houses because of high winds pushing exhaust back into a house.

Very good point RyanV. Maybe he has a ventless heater though. But if not definetely something to keep in mind.

I always try to face the door to the south when I can...both when I had a perm on Mille and now with the wheelhouse. If you get a sunny day, the warmth is nice on the door side, plus most of the wind comes from the north and west. Just my .02...

face door to the east.use a vented heater and put in a c/o detector.you face door to the north 1 good snow storm could block your door shut which i have seen before.most resorts face the door to the east.

i always face mine where it wont be on the windy side, that way everytime you open your door you dont loose your heat.
