H20 screen blanked

tunrevir

Question

I dropped my h20 while out in Colorado and it appears to have broke something inside. The screen remains blank after startup, the light will go on/off but nothing comes onto the screen. Is it worth it to send in to lowrance for repair or should I buy a new unit? Anyone happen to have the Lowrance customer repair address? Thanks!

I take it its out of warranty.

If you just send it in you might be charged regardless if have any work done to it or not.

I recommend you call Lowrance Customer Service to get the lowdown before sending them anything.

That number is easy to find at Lowrance's site.

Good Luck.

First.. remove the batteries..let it sit a while...than try new batteries and see if it powers up fully...or do the same with the power cord and see if that powers it up after a complete shut-down and battery removal sequence.

No help there..... Now check the Lowrance web site and look up the tips for the H2O and Explorer/Hunt units on how to do a soft and hard re-set..try the soft reset first...nothing yet...then the Hard Reset.

Still..NADA..no results..now it's time to hit the warranty section and file a warranty ticket with them and see how that go's.

You will likely receive another reconditioned unit in exchange.

tun-

I had this same thing happen to me. The unit would turn on, but there would be nothing there. Mine actually happened while I was fishing in the pouring rain, which is wierd because it's suppose to be water proof. I got lucky because my one-year warranty was still good. I sent mine in to Lowrance and they sent me a brand new one back. I guess it all comes down to if your warranty is still good or not.

I just emailed Lowrance with an issue like this but I didn't drop it or get it wet. I hope they can help me fix it without sending it in(like 3 yrs old)

I cannot start my H2O. New batteries and when I push the power button I see a white screen as I hold the button. When I let go nothing on screen. I pulled the map card and tried another map card. Tried multiple sets of batteries. Did a soft reset (would not soft reset) Thanks and please let me know if there is anything I can do

I e-mailed Lowrance on my issue and they said to send it in. I tried the hard and soft resets and nothing happened so consulted them and I now need to send it in. It costs 100 bucks and 13 for shipping and handling. I looked at the newer units and for the 100 bucks+ I'll have them send me a reconditioned unit or my own after getting it fixed. I am a little disappointed that a small drop 3' or less onto rocky terrain disabled my gps unit. Could have been a bugger if it was white out conditions trying to navigate back with the compass and map. I see the value in them more then ever now!

my issue wasn't batteries I think the thing is just close to done for.

I actually tried it after leaving without batteries/memory for a few days and it will now start up.

Hope it works for awhile as I am not paying $162 for them to fix a Lowrance Defect. (They said that this issue is from a bad board)

Garmin for me in the future I guess.

I cracked my screen a few years ago and called them and it was out of warranty. So they said they could send me a new one for 160 bucks or something like that so I took the offer but they let me keep my cracked screen one on the deal that I would not sell it or anything like that.....now I have and emergeny H20
