Friday Bremer announced pregame that Kubel was shy of 100 RBIs this season and needed to catch fire this weekend to get to 100. He did it today, baby!!!

Now Mauer needs to go 5 for 5, hit 2 homers, and drive in 4 RBI's on tuesday to hit .370, have 30 homers and 100 RBI's. Those are the stats he will need to win the MVP. I want him to win it regardless because I'll puke my guts out and hate the yankees even more (if that's possible) if jeter or texiera win it.

I think (I hope) the fact that the Twins have made it to a 163rd game will be enough to give Mauer the MVP. If they would have finished 5+ games out like it was lookiing a month ago, I think it would have gone to one the guys in NY. But that 5 for 5 game with 2 long balls would be a nice capper to the season!

Mauer is the front runner for MVP right now. If the Twins make the postseason he will win MVP beyond a doubt.
