Softball equip question

I like a little bit bigger glove for the infield or any position in Softball. Depends on what you like for the feel. Breaking them in varies with about 20 ways to do it from runiing it over a few times to strapping a ball inside and sleeping on it. I found usage is the best way, in my 21 years of playing the game. There are various oils and such that you can use. All will work, but usage I feel is the best. It breaks it in your way, and that would be the best. I am old school so things may have changed, but I did play Class A and classic ball when I was younger.

They say that youre not supposed to use any conditioner on a glove cause it prematurely breaks them down. I have the rawlings glod glove series and it breaks in pretty fast. Best glove Ive ever owned by far, everyone thats ever BORROWED it loves it too.

I also use a 13.5 I like it as it forces me to get down in the dirt and easy to get the ball out of the glove for twists or glove flips...breaking them in well I haven't done that in 10 years or more as the glove I currently use in the infield I got from a carny that found it and his carnival was leaving town so I claimed it and nobody claimed it from me and my outfield glove I have had for 11 years but back then I just wrapped a softball in the pocket when not in use and I played allot of catch with it. I like rawlings higher end leathers......the more $ the better the leather IMO

Outfielders glove 13.5-14". If you soak the glove in water you can then bend it a lot to loosen it up but don't break the thumb on it (put a big crease where the thumb meets the glove). Put the softball in the pocket and tie it closed with a big sock or a strip of fabric. Just before it is completely dry rub it down with some mink oil so it retains some moisture which aids it from drying out. Every so oftem put some shaving cream on it if it seems dry. In all my years of college and pro baseball, this was the best way to do it that I ran into. Didn't come up with it myself, but it worked great and broke them in quickly while keeping them in good shape.
