zamboni
Zamboni:Do you think that McCarthy just puts that in the game plan from now on when they play the Vikings? Well, this is his second one of this season, so not just the Vikes. I watched part of the Bears/Packers game and he was sacked in the end zone in that one, too. LMITOUT
Rodgers New Nickname? How about the NFC Offensive Player of the Month for October. Chew on that for a while! Oh, and Sharper received the Defensive player of the month. Vikes apparently didn't need him.......
pegleg
I guess the Packers didn't need Sharper either... They said he was washed up 6 years ago.
LMITOUT
I guess they were right since Charles Woodson was the NFC Defensive player of the month for September.
Snag
Rogers is good due to play calling. Give the award to the coach. I wonder what his yards after the catch totals are (probably the highest ever in the league), since every game he throws 2-3 ten yard passes that they take to the end zone. Sharper is a ball hawk and that works great when your up by 20. He gets burned in close games. I would love to see Farve burn him to 2 td's in the playoffs. LMITOUT
Good due to play calling? That's funny right there.
Snag
He's a Matt Cassell just admit it. Put him on the Chiefs and see what you would get.
LMITOUT
I suppose you would say the same about Peyton Manning? He seems to throw a lot of shorter range passes that go for a lot of YAC too? Just admit it, the only reason you're bitter is that we're talking about a GB player. Holy cow, take the biased glasses off for a bit. Steve Foss
Rogers is good due to play calling.Who cares who calls the plays? It takes talent to execute. No play calling coach in the world can overcome a QB who is a piece of snot.
zamboni
He is a mediocre at best QB. Argue all you want. His "spectacular" plays, like last weeks TD to Driver aren't because he is awesome. Driver was wide open in blown coverage and Drivers legs made it happen. All his TDs are that way. Favre can STILL thread a needle at 60 yards (with velocity of a major league fastball), Rodgers will never even be near the same caliber Favre is. james_walleye
When you take into account how long he holds the ball and how many sacks he takes, maybe hes not the glory boy you put him out there as.
LMITOUT
One of top 5 QB's in the league last year and seems to be doing OK this year, especially in October if he was the NFC player of the month. Not bad for a glory boy that holds onto the ball too long. james_walleye
McCarthy said 6 of the 8 sacks against the vikings were on Rodgers. You going to tell me that his pure stats were the whole story in that game? Or are you going to be realistic and acknowledge that his holding onto the ball was a huge role in a 7 point loss. Pure stats arent everything.
Swimbait2009
He'll learn to get rid of the ball faster. He's a very good QB that any team would like to have (maybe not instead of Peyton, Brady, Favre, or Brees).
DTro
He's doing a good job of spending time on the ground today.

Swimbait2009
And that is because he hold onto it too long. They haven't played another team with a pass rush like ours, and he's gotten a little too comfy with the ball. I think we'll see him improve on that by the end of the season as the schedule continues to build on them.
james_walleye
I gotta believe there is a little bit of pressure building on Rodgers shoulders at 14-3 now. I wonder how long until Allen gets his patented strip and fumble on the QB.

Pure stats arent everything. Me be realistic? You say pure stats aren't everything and then spout off with a stat from McCarthy. Nice job at contradicting yourself. Not to mention you can't be taken seriously if you put the blinders on and don't look at his overall performance, but instead just over examine a game or two. Cherry picking really doesn't help prove your point.

Im not the one forgetting the sacks that are on Rodgers. Im not the one not looking at the overall performance. I know what his numbers are, hes my fantasy QB. McCarthys statement isnt a pure stat is it?? I do believe there isnt an official stat given on how many sacks allowed by the QB and how many on the o-line. Its another aspect of the QB position that has to be taken into consideration.
LMITOUT
Apparently he's good enough to overcome the poor offensive line play and his propensity to hold onto the ball too long to be recognized as the NFC offensive player of the month for October. I don't recall many mediocre QB's getting named the player of the month.
