The season is almost over!!!

The moon is at new phase on Sept. 18 and during this upcoming week will appear as a gradually diminishing crescent of light in the after midnight-hours, and won't be much of a hindrance to stargazing. This combined with the fact that at this particular time of the year the hazy skies of summer are giving way to clearer skies and cooler overnight temperatures means that this is an optimum week to check out the beautiful summer Milky Way.

Prettiest night of the season last night. I fished in a T-shirt until midnight and not a bug to be seen. Caught two channels and a surprise 33" sturgeon (he took a big chunk of cut sucker on a clicker screaming run).

18 days left to get back in the Green on the flathead board.

Always trust the radar.

Had I done this last night I wouldnt have sat in the pouring rain scouting a football game.......

Anyone heading out fishing tonight? I'm depthfinder less in my boat and although I don't need one to tell me that its a foot deep (rocks scraping do a good job) I don't like going out without one either....

If its one thing I know about rain and Jordan. Unless it says there's an 80% chance of rain. its not going to rain much. Seems like all the rain goes south to New Prague and North to Chaska. Its crazy how it changes once a system hits the river valley

Last spring it was the opposite from what I found grin The radar became my friend after leaving a good starting night to find out the freak 20 minute down poor with lightening passed and it was a very nice night grin

You can not run the HD harddrive video camera and even the cheaper point and shoots will fall victim to moisture frown Plus the lenses fog up and the flash bounces off the rain drops. I have had some good nights fishing in the rain, but capturing the catch posses an issue sometimes. Or if you have a high dollar camera, it does not even come out.

only had one pix not turn out from the rain this year and it was a pic of my buddys rough fish (walleye)no loss I guess. I know what your talking about shack but there is an issue with rain I cant work in it but I will hunt and fishin it all day long. sometimes you just gotta do it. They have made some leaps and bounds in rain gear these days. I know not everyone can aford it but if you only have a certain amount of time to do outdoor activitys then rain shouldnt be an issue. just my thoughts not tring to p in anyone wheaties and like I said the fish dont care if they dont get wet so why should I grinlaughlaugh
