Lodging help on Vermilion

I've got a 40th birthday coming up and want to go to Vermilion. I've never been there before and have no idea where to go. I would like just a real simple cabin for 3-4 guys. Any suggestions?

Glenmore ..Leroy & Nancy run a fine, fine place, keep on top of everything on or around the lake.

Mocha Rocks the docks.

Everretts Bay Lodge ...Diane & Dave treat ya right an run a fine place also.

Many places to chose...BIG LAKE...many types of areas to fish...like three lakes in one...fun part is doing some home work an get what yer loking for ...if it is just drinking an partying...dig deep...might not find it.

If it is an all round outdoors fishen good time Vermilion style...man o man can the choices be hard.

I'm sure there will be a little partying going on, but the goal will be to catch or see a giant, so we'll be working pretty hard I'm sure.

The date is mid-October and I'm really looking forward to it. I'm not too worried about finding a good spot to fish, but I just want a cool place to stay that will add to the memories.

I will second Glenmore!! Nice place and its on the East end of the lake, which holds bigger fish from my experience!!!

Retreat Lodge

Right in the middle of the lake, go east or west, fish weeds or rocks, plus the best guide on the lake runs the place.

For October trolling, I would recommend the east end of the lake, hands down.

It's been a tough year on the west end for Muskies and in my experience, the east end is just better in the fall. JMHO

Another problem you'll have is that not all of the resorts will be open in mid October. Most will be closed up by the first week of the month. That includes a few of the ones that were menioned here.

The fish seem to run heavier on the west end and both ends can be good for trolling but some years one side outshines the other. From what I've heard the west end has produced alot of big fish this year while the east end has had it's moments but generally it's been pretty hit or miss.

Whispering Winds on the West end would suite your needs very well. No roads to cross. Jeremy is on the water every day and has the patterns dialed in

It is a small quiet resort.
