Hit Nebaggie Saturday and Sunday

Started off Saturday with a Bull Head (yeah serious). Also caught some crappies, and several of the small perch.

Sunday found a hole that produced some better perch, and even landed a nice gill. No Walters or Pike this weekend. Kept nothing! oh except for the pike that some dude decided I should have it instead???

Yah If you were the green one I was next to you all weekend as well. Brought the red durango out sunday so i could get over that nasty a** bump at the landing that they need to fix right now. Had nothing sunday, but was catching all those small eyes saturday in about 18 ft. went out a little deeper sunday and not a bite. I might try a little shallower today, like 15 maybe. I switched over to bigger hooks in hopes to fend off some of those smaller fish, didnt work, ha. I feel like today will be the day. oh yah didnt keep anything.

Jarrid, nice bullhead report. I will say that the only times I have ever caught Rock Bass out of Mighty Minnie was in the winter on a deeper portion of the rockpile. Odd because I used to drag worms and minnows on the bottom all the time. Then again, the only time I caught a bullhead in Minnie was in a tire we use as a bumper on the dock in the fall. Anyone here regularly pull Rockies or Bullys out of Minnie? Anyone else pull a brown trout out of there? I have caught like three in my 24 years fishing there and, no kidding, one was on a Spook Jr.

I have seen both Rainbows and Browns come out of both lakes.... Minnesuing Acres has the trout ponds that do on occasion over flow in the spring and you have Nebagamon Creek flowing from Lake Nebagamon to the Brule River .

Lots of chances for trout to get to both lakes and they are deep enough to support them .

I've taken both, but it's been a few years since the last one. The browns used to come up Nebagamon creek from the Brule, but in recent years beaver dams have impeded both them and the walleyes from traveling between Minnesuing and Nebagamon. The varmints can rebuild faster than a guy can tear them out. I'd like to see how concerned a PETA freak is about our fisheries. They want to protect the warm fuzzies at the expense of the fish?! It's called BALANCE, people!

Hey Jarrid, we should get together one of these weekends and get out fishing together. Do you still have my number? Give me a call or text one of these days and lets line something up. Maybe we could get a few others in here out too? Anyone interested?

Yeah that sounds good. I am open next weekend, and probably going to have some good company with me. You want to come out here to Douglas County? Maybe a trip to Iron-River on Saturday morning? Sherpa I love your avatar photo. Im guessing thats from the 2011 opener?

I know, way too long now JW. I really want to trade AK stories. I'm off pretty much all next week. Saturday works for me guys. I just have a work party that evening, but I'm up for spending the day on the ice.

Jarrid, yessir that is from the opener on the flowage. What a day that was.

Sherpa and Jarrid, next Saturday should work for me. If Sat falls thru, I can definitely do Sunday as well. Where are you guys thinking we should go? As far as species, I am up for anything. I haven't been on the St Louis River yet this year and I wouldn't mind giving that a try. I also wouldnt mind heading over to your neck of the woods in Douglas county and giving some new waters a shot. Whereever you guys think we can get on the best bite, that gets my vote!

Sherpa, I can't wait to trade some Alaska stories! I'd be game try and line something up where we head out there together. I think you said your dad lives up there and has access to a plane (if I remember right)? I've only been to the Anchorage, Soldotna, Seward, Wasilla and Talkeetna areas. I'd love to see a new part of AK the next time I go and fish with someone who knows the area and isn't a guide.

Sounds good guys, keep me posted. I also would like to finally get out on the St. Louis. Just haven't been brave enough to go out on that ice yet. I'm open to whatever though. Iron River might be to far for me this weekend.

JW we should definitely talk about a possible AK trip. Hopefully I will be going for my usual three weeks again this summer. I know Jarrid is interested too. So is my other buddy John. It would be pretty fun to get a couple guys together for a trip. And yep my dad lives up there, two of my brothers also. He does have a plane but the trouble is it's a two seater so it's hard to go anywhere with more than two. Could always rent a 4 seater though. Details, details. See you on the ice fellas.

Yeah I think we are all on the same page with the river for Saturday. Jarrid and I tried a spot way upriver last night and are probably going out again tonight. Should be out there for a few hours this evening if you're interested. I'll PM you my phone number so you can call me if you are interested, if not you'll have it for this weekend then.

Fisherama on Nebbagie.. Anyone doing this tournament? I most defin am not, mostly because I have to go to one of my best friends benefit at Mr Ds in West Duluth. Anyone know if they fixed up the access so people will be able to drive onto the lake with smaller vehicles. Good luck to those who will be fishing...

Heard that both the sidelines, and the fisherama had huge turnouts for there respected tournaments. Heard there was a close to 4 lb walleye caught on Minne, and havent heard what Nebaggie produced. Hope a lot of fish survived the event though....

Sherpa and I decided to take our business to the river, and a brand new spot off the grid worked out for us greatly. Did not catch a walleye, but found real decent crappies. We caught what wuld of filled a bucket, but we did not keep anything in hopes that these biggens produce some nice youngens this spring! Here are some pics... full-17656-16993-mclures2.jpg
