Got out this weekend for some great shore fishing for pannies, and we were rewarded with lots of action. We caught Crappies, Blue Gillz and Perch. They were off a rocky shoreline that I know of, and action was fast a furious. We had a great day. Let everything go!

So a couple things: 1 I saw what looked to be dnr shocking a backwater of the harbor. Anyone know anything about this? 2 hit the open water for the 1st time last night on nebaggie. Last year did great on pannies, this year notta one, but that's probably because of the different spring weather. Wat temp was between 45-48 degrees. Did accidently catch a couple slimers (19" & 24") and my first Wally of the year 16". 3 the part that sucked was running into the natives at the boat landing. They said they got 53 males and 5 females on Monday night. I'm sure they got some tonight too!!! Sux.......

Went out to Amnicon last night with Sherpa, and caught lots of fishies..

We fished walters. Opening weekend Sunday we did real good out there including a 25". We released all the fish back except one eater walleye for my dad. Last night we could not even catch one. However we did lock horns with a few muskies. Had a few snap offs, but landed a few smaller ones. Fun reeling these bad boys of water in on walleye gear. Also, caught about 4 or 5 pike (not good for ski population), many small largies, and a few keeper size crappies. Awesome to be out (even know the wind sucked).. Looking forward to the river thursday night, then the TPWA tourny on the river all weekend~~!!

After a bad weather weekend in the TPWA tourney this last weekend on the SLR, I had to take advantage of the nice evening on Nebaggie. Got there after work and at the boat access was Dave Browns truck n trailer from Keyes Outdoors. I wonder what he was doing there? Also, had to help Jon from the waterfront tow his pontoon to the bar. After all that finally got to fishing. Only caught a few pike and smallies, perch and blue gillz. Kinda slow really! Nevertheless had a nice night enjoying some sun n rain mix weather with little to no wind.. Can't wait for the 3 day weekend of fishing coming up! Gd luck

Fished Nebaggy today. East wind blowing , and cold. Caught 9 Northerns , 4 Smallmouth and 3 Walleyes.Three Northerns were decent size ( 3-6 lbs.) the rest were small. 2 of the Smallies were hawgs ( 19 1/2, 20 1/4 inches) the smaller one was about 16 inches. 1 Walleye was 14 inches, the other 2 were 16 & 17 inches. Caught most the fish on Fire Tiger Shad rap. The 2 big Smallies and 2 of the Walleyes were caught on Jig n Minnow. Buddy kept the 2 Walleyes, rest were released. Keyes Outdoors Truck at ramp today.

Finally got out Sunday. Didn't hit it until 10:00 and only out until 12:30 because of a bad cold. Weather OK on Big Minnie. Fishing, not so. No fish. Missed one blow-up on a popper and lost one on a swim jig. Hoping to go out Wednesday after work but forecasted 30mph wind with gusts 40+, I doubt it.

Raked under the pine trees for an hour-and-a-half, showered, took a little nap, then hit the Mighty Minnie from 3:00-8:30 tonight. 6 LMB, 1 SMB, and 2 flippin' hammerhandles. Smallie was 16" with a couple LMB in the 13-15" range. All on the swimjig with a GM thumper tail type trailer. Man, they swallowed that swim jig up real good. Should of had three more Largies but they kept getting unbuttoned when they got to the top. Missed two on topwater (personally I think they missed the popper because it never even went under). Fish all came from wind-blown points or shoreline. Wind didn't lay down until about 8:15 so not much topwater happening. Wednesday looks promising.

Did a long weekend of fine fishing starting down in Webster at Yellow Lake. Caught countless big blue gillz, perch, and a fw crappies. Only 11 walleyes, and 1 worth keeping, but I did not keep anything. Fished Friday night, all day saturday, and sunday morning.

On the way home, stopped at ULSC to catch some nice blue gillz, a few small pike, and a 27" doggie. Seen two other doggies roaming the shallows. I wonder if they are in spawn mode or something, never seen them like that. Could not find any walleyes, but a nice day with great company to top off the weekend. Already looking forward to next weekend!!!

A few things I forgot to mention. Driving in Monday morning to town I passed the FLW truck n trailer heading west on 2/53! Pretty cool! Also more boat trailers than I have ever seen at the public access on ULSC!

Last night I could not help my-self and got out to Minnie - Did what I usually dont do, and thats cast for bass, and northern..Didnt catch a one, but did find the crappies! Oh man they were on fire, and I could of had a nice baskett for the fillet knife, but let everything go. I also pounded on some blue gillz too! It was fun casting LRS for pan-fish! Oh yeah also noticed a guy on a pontoon dumping fish food in the water outside his cabin??? Anyway looking forward to thursday, then the weekend. I will be on fish lake donating my time to help "Take a kid fishing Tourney"!

Fished Minnie today. Caught a 19 1/2 inch Smallie and a 19 inch Largemouth. Caught 7 other Bass that were 12- 14 inches. Saw plenty of Gills and Crappies, but left them do their thing. Couple small Norskis also. Fished Middle Eau Claire last Friday. Caught 5 Largemouth and 2 Smallies. The Keyes Outdoors Truck was at the landing. Looked like they were fishing Smallies on the beds.

Cold and windy Wednesday afternoon. Caught 3 SMB and 2 LMB from 4:30-8:00. Two SMB on topwater during the 10 minute lull between fronts. One SMB and the two LMB on the swimjig. No Northerns...BONUS. Might get out Sunday.

Went out Saturday and Sunday afternoons. Did OK. 1 smallie and 6 LMB Saturday. Most on topwater. Sunday about the same. 1 SMB and 4-5 LMB. Oh yeah, 1 hammerhandle. All on topwater. Found a back bay where they were chasing minnows through the lillies and rushes Sunday. Not too keen on the frog though. Caught a few but not as many as were chasing in that bay. Might have to pick up one of those minnow shaped Spro Frog type lures. That would of KILLED yesterday. Caught a couple on a Zara Spook fished in the pockets and edges. Probably hitting it on Wednesday. Bunch of frog blow-ups. A couple where I flat-out missed but there were others where the fish just plain whiffed. Frustrating seeing all those fish chasing and when you get one to blast it, they miss. They wouldn't come back either.

Went to Nebaggie last night. Although we didnt get skunked, fish were NOT heavy action. Caught some gillz, perch, and a smallie. Did miss a decent fish (maybe a walleye)...Weather wasnt that bad. Did get wet, but it was more drizzle than rain. Plus not a lot of wind. So not that bad. cant wait to be back at her tonight and through the weekend. remember the bug spray,.

Fished Upper St. Croix last night. The Bass and Northerns seem to be everywhere. Caught at least 30 Bass and 10 Northerns. It was fun, but the fish were all small. Caught 3 bass that were over 14 inches and 1 Northern about 3 lbs. The rest were small. Are the Bass being caught, and kept as soon as they reach legal size? The Bass seemed to be fat and healthy, so I dont think they are stunted. Tried for Gills, but did not find any big ones. Did not catch a Crappie.

Seems as though ULSC has taken a bad turn as far a quality fish. In my opinion the ice fishing crowd has taken a good toll on the lake. Especially the crappies!!! Not much different for the other lakes in the area too! The few time I have been to solon this year, really no different than the report you just posted. Small fish. Its to bad, wasnt that long ago where a guy could catch some really nice fish out there. I believe they are still in there, just not the numbers they were a few years ago!

Fished Lower Eau Claire last night. Very slow. Caught 1 Largemouth about 2 lbs. and some small Gills. Found Gill and Bass beds in a few areas, but saw no fish on beds. Gills I caught on weed edges were full of spawn. Water temp. 74 degrees.

Hit Big Minnie from 0500-1000 Saturday. All in all not too bad. About 10 LMB ranging between 10-17 inches, 1 SMB about 15 inches, and two NP with each going about 14 inches. All on top water only because that's all I wanted to fish. All catches were on a Zara Spook. Missed a couple and they would not re-hit anything I threw back at them. A LOT of the bass were on the back hook. Just picking weed pockets or over deeper weed edges. Had two blow-ups on frogs going through the junk but neither got hooked up.
