wastewaterguru
I was coming back from a weekend in Chicago........and I saw .....open water at the Mississippi by Hardman Avenue......open water at the 494 bridge over the Minnesota......and open water at the 169 bridge over the Minnesota.Still alot of shoreline ice, but there was definately navigable water through the middle.Any ramp reports yet......I suppose I will have to get the boat in pretty soon. Deitz Dittrich
WWG -were you not the one last year who got trapped in a creek by ice?

Larry FlatCaster
There is open water at both of the blackdog spillways.. Not sure about the launches though.... 35W is frozen solid still. Cedar might be open and that might be the open water you saw over 494 and MN river. but with the low river and ice and or snow on the ramp it might make launching a little slick. But hey....We've done it before. Let me know if you need some extra gear to clear the way.
wastewaterguru
LFC.....that's what I am talking about. But the snow is no problem now. With the new boat....I may be able to just push her off the trailer and right down the ramp on her belly.
MinnesnowtaWild
What can you even catch in the open water sections this time of year?
markkstanley
I think some guys are going to open up the Pool 2 494 access if they haven't already.
Here-Kitty-Kitty
The launch under 35w on the other side of black dog is still frozen solid same with the whole river in that stretch. Under Cedar the river is open except for about six feet on either side of the shores. I wasn't able to get down there as the woman was in a hurry to get to babies r us.
