Body of Missing Paddle Boarder Recovered from Lake Waconia

December 21, 2016 10:58 AM

The body of a 35-year-old man who was reported missing after paddle boarding on Lake Waconia in November has been found.

According to the Carver County Sheriff's Office, Andrew Stifter's body was recovered from Lake Waconia Tuesday afternoon.

An ice fisherman discovered his body while using an underwater camera, authorities said. The ice fisherman called authorities with the report at about 4:30 p.m.

Crews had previously suspended their search for Stifter due to unsafe conditions

I told my wife that I wouldn't be surprised if an ice fisherman located him this winter, especially with it being Waconia.

(*smirk*...Just as I was typing this up I got the "You called it" message from her)

Sad deal, common sense folks, I've seen plenty of folks biff on a paddleboard, no pfd and during November?........*shakes head*
