eyeguy 54
Saw a flash by the window so looked out and saw the hawk. It grabbed a bird. Grabbed the camera and snuck the patio door open to try and get a quick shot before it flew off. Fun ! It was just a couple feet from the end of the deck so the flowers helped. delcecchi
Cool. I had a turkey vulture in the back yard a couple days ago, working on a squirrel. I don't know where he got the squirrel, since I just mowed the day before and there weren't any dead squirrels in the area. It was reasonably fresh by the way. eyeguy 54
ANYFISH2
Sure that isn't a sharp shinned hawk? Just asking, Always tough to tell the difference, IMO. Head size, "hooded" head pattern, and barred chest makes me lean to sharp skinned. Nice pictures! As always.
eyeguy 54
I was thinking coopers cuz of the size. this was a tall bird when it perched in the alley.took off before more posing. yes indeed they are tough to tell apart. we get both kinds raiding the feeders.
