Found this guy fighting with another one. They didn’t pay much attention until I pulled up the camera and the other one bolted. That would have been cool to capture them in the air flicking spurs.

That's my dream shot. Unfortunately, just like what happened to you, every time I stop, they split. BTW, nice capture.

I'm amazed that the roosters are already showing thier mating colors. I hear them cackle down here but not much action other then that. Iowa's pheasant population has dropped so bad that I think Minnesota will take over the 2 position behind South Dakota!
