fishuhalik
It's almost a family tradition to go icefishing for the first time of the year after the thanksgiving meal. I don't see why you couldn't haul out a portable and do some stickin'.
merkman
I went out last year after Thanksgiving.I never made it out past 3 ft of water since that is all the more I was willing to get wet. lolI never saw a thing (surprise) but it was good to get the house and all the decoys in order and even to just to spin a few decoys made it worthwhile. When my brother in law and I got out of the house there was about 2 inches of water around the house.... it was time to go.I don't think it would be impossible to actually spear on Thanksgiving up north though. glenn57
i GO up north the first part of spearing season, and i tell ya what its been a loooooong time since we had more that 6" of ice on the first weekend of dec. last year first time out was the second weekend of dec we had about 8" but a 15" snow storm took care of that till mid jan.
