I think it is 34"x65" with a 6' handle. It might be more like 36-38" across though. I'll let ya know tommorow. Why do you ask? We'll never get to use it frown

Yea I have to work, 4 months off is long enough, but I can still fish the evening/night bite grin

It's Beckman. She got it for Sturgeon, per her mom's advice, since last year mom's biggest fish BARELY fit in the net.

Hey is it legal to use redhorse sucker for bait i caught some the other day and was wondering if it was legal to use them or not. If they are do any of you guys use them.

If your suckers are 12 inches or less they are considered minnows and can be harvested as live bait as long as they do not come from infested waters.

If the redhorse is over 12 inches it is considered a rough fish. The possession limit for Redhorse is 50. You can harvest it and use it as cut bait but you cannot transport it alive. It is unlawful to transport fish alive.

You should become familiar with the regulations on Page 70 Minnesota 2009 Fishing Regulations relative to minnows. And the regulations on Page 59 concerning rough fish. If you are going to harvest bait it is really important to become familiar with the Invasive Species information on pages 14 - 17.

I use fresh caught suckers for cut bait all the time. They are perfect cut bait and it beats the heck out of paying over $2 a piece for large suckers at a bait store.

I completely agree! Being that I am VERY close to the Fish and Wildlife Service, it is important to emphasize the effects of invasive species! We want to make sure that generation to come have the opportunities to enjoy this sport as much as we do!

Thanks for the info steve d. I am going to have to go down to my local river and catch some then because they are biting like crazy right now. I mostly use chubs but i caught some the other night and it got me wondering. I cant wait to get out there. Thanks again.

I have been here for a while now i cant figure out how to get rid of the thing that says im new and how to get my personal pic up there. Thanks for welcoming me to the forum though. What are you going to use the ugly stick for. I had one and i didnt care for it it didnt have a real nice hookset but give it a whirl. Where do you fish mostly
