going crow hunting

well I was out on sunday and within a minute or two I spotted one yote about 100yrds away but wasn't making that shot with my 12g.

Would my .22 Remington 597 work well for Crows?

Ya man that would work fine. As long as you can hit it you can drop it. Look into that bird shot for .22

good luck finding them in a tree though,the only shots i had this season where in the air

i was talking to my dad and he said he used to shoot them in the trees with a .22

he had to go find them though, no crow call back then... or at least he didnt have one

Shooting crows is a riot.

Play the call...fighting crows always works great.

Load up on 12 gauge 7's and hide.

You do know there's a season on them right and it's closed.

So it's closed right now and those are illeagle birds.

the crow season is actually open now (tomorrow is last day). March 1-31st was the 1st season and the second season in July 15th- October 15th.

it is LEGAL to shoot crows anytime of the year so long as they are about to do harm or cause damage....

anybody know of any crows out there that are NOT about to do something bad?

I sure dont... thus they seem to magically drop dead around my area all the time...

yeah down here they have that problem too but half the time its during season when im fartin around the yard and ill put the sneak on them if they land.

last july i sat for 2 hours, in a spot before dark, waiting for crows to come to a spot they go to every day about 1/2 mile from my house and im waiting and i hear them and they land proly 100 yards up the road towards the house then pretty soon they land in my grove. so i go back to the yard and put the sneak on and a couple seen me and flew and i thought they were all gone so i walked to the edge and there was still 2 up there and i wasnt gonna shoot but at 45 yards i decided to and thats when the 3 inch #5's come in handy over the 7 1/2's. if i woulda known they were gonna come to the yard i wouldnta had to wake up at 4 am.

got out the other day and shot 8 of em man is that fun to do in the off season to keep your eye dead on. Turn on the call throw some decoys out and watc them flock to you.

I did a combo hunt, coyote and crow with the shotgun Saturday and shot one of each. The coyote was a 20# (guessing) male pup that came in real quick. Knocked him over at about 12 yards. Sure was fun.

the other day there was a crow picking on our kittens.. well lets just say the uncased law and being early goose season wernt in his favor.. t shot at 15 yards made him into sparrow sized pieces..
