skin on crappies

Just wondering if anybody scales crappies like sunnies and fries them with the skin on? Why or why not

I had them that way as a kid all the time. Now I just fillet because it's easier.

I skin em. Don't like the taste with the skin on. Sunnies on the other hand can be good with the skin on.

scale them, I don't like them without the skin, plus I think they are easier to fry.

unless they are huge i scale them. no wasted meat.

I have left the skin on and just scaled crappies. The reason for doing so is the skin is so soft on crappies that when you try to skin them, a lot of times you go through the skin anyway. I slightly prefer to leave the skin on crappies and gills.

I have done it both ways, easier to leave it on usually.

I generally like to fillet the skin off.

Those fillets are tough to beat deep fried.

Mmmmmmm...fried fish.... As long as they're fried I don't care whether the skin is on or off. I love'em either way. Dang! Now I'm hungry!
