Any chance? (A-Rod question)

They say he is having surgery for the cyst on his thigh and will be out 10 weeks.

Any chance that when he met with MLB brass this week he got suspended? Take this week, add it to 10 weeks after surgery and add a week for conditioning and you have 12 weeks, or a 3 month suspension?

By keeping it quit MLB takes it's most well known 'roids user off the field without damaging his reputation any more. In addition it gives the Yankee's a chance to salvage their season once he returns. (remember the Yankee's drive MLB tv ratings)

Two things seem real strange about this surgery. 1) if he needed it why didn't he get it done during the off season. 2) Why didn't the Yankee's make the announcement or at least handle the press release?

This may seem far fetched but don't put this beyond Bud's henchmen to think it up.

I do know that systs(hope i spelled it right) come and go. I have had one that was recurring until i got surgery and got it removed. Im sure that it popped up from some sort of irritant to the area the syst was found. And yes it took me about 2 and a half months to fully heal from the surgery.

I would be suprised if this were the case. What better way for MLB to emphasize how important this issue is than to suspend their best player if the case warrants that action. Pussyfoot around this issue and it will become more of a joke.

I was wondering if anybody would pick up on the MJ thing. If anybody thinks he chose to "retire" for 2 years and play baseball they are in a fantasy world. I heard lots of rumblings that it had to do with gambling debts and some say that the tragic murder of his dad had something to do with it as well. Scary stuff that was buried in the past as much as possible. I am still a huge MJ fan and IMO he is the best that has ever played, hands down, but there was a dark side during those salad years.

Very interesting Brian. While possible I'd have to lean against this being the case. It certainly wouldn't fly with the union or be a legal way top suspend somebody under the CBA.

Well I wouldn't worry about the legality of it. The union and MLB have been deaf and blind up to this point. If they have figured a way to get out of the spotlight of the A-Rod scandal for 2-3 months they will go for it.

Remember the players here........A-Rod, Scot Boras, Don Fehr & Bud Selig. While they represent a bunch of money they certainly aren't the pillars of integrity.

I'm not saying the injury isn't legit. I'm just saying I wouldn't be surprised one bit if this was the case.

When I was at Great Lakes, IL I had a lung collapse. I spent 4 days in the hospital. Was the same time MJ announced he was coming back. That was all that was on TV for 4 days. The Navy hospital didn't have cable. UGH
