Hiya -

There is something to pink (and purple too) for smallies. Lord knows why. Hard to find baits with pink bellies, but a magic marker or some nail polish fixes that... One nice thing about living in a house with 3 females - always a wide selection of nail polish colors to choose from when modifying lures.

I like several different types, depending on what I'm doing. Strike King Wild Shiners are one of my favorites, and for whatever reason they don't seem to get talked about much. They run a little deeper than most jerkbaits. Smokey Joe Clear, Sexy Shad and Clown are all good. After fighting it as long as I could, I finally caved and started using Lucky Crafts too. I like the pointers, and really like Slender Pointers. (My wallet does not like how much I like them, however) In the standard Pointer the 78 size in Sunfish is one of my standbys, and ghost minnow is pretty good too. Really, any of the translucent colors. Same with Slender Pointers. Also like X-raps and Husky jerk-baits too.
