SkunkedAgain
Is there a thermocline with the forums here? At what point in the month of March will the number of posters in the open water forums be greater than the ice fishing forum? I envision this just like lake turnover. Maybe all of us will start feeding more around then?
crothmeier
I've only been on here this winter, i too was wondering what the population does when the climate warms
ozzie
there is way to much ice fishing to be done to move the open water topic to the top, but it will happen sometime in April
Whopper Stopper
I will say April 5 is the day of the forum turnover. WS

DonBo
Guys, those hard water die hards are nuts! They'll have the upper hand well into May. I called them on it last June cause there were SO many still posting there. You can't believe the greef I got for even bringing it up.Me? I'm going with the flow. As long as we got ice, I'll icefish, as soon as we got open water, I'll launch the boat.
Cooter
Personally I prefer open water over ice fishing, and I think I've figured out why the ice forum is so popular: in summer, people are away from the computer actually fishing; in winter, people are on the computer talking about fishing. Make sense? Or it could just be a Minnesota thing!
Tim_Anderson
Keep your eye on the Rainy River forum. It will be "going nuts" within the month.
Surface Tension
If you hang around the Open Water forum during winter your at risk to getting frozen in till ice out.
Sandmannd
I was out on the open water with River Dan this weekend. Can't wait for warmer days!!
crothmeier
I'll be ice fishing into the last weekend in march for sure. Do every year, but come late april/early may im open water. gives me about a month for the transition, pack away and unpack.
bucketmouth64
Open water can't come soon enough. Daylight savings is coming up so it will be brighter earlier in the mornings which means longer daylight more time on the water!!Will have to start taking inventory on the fishing gear before the sport show.
