ThunderLund78
Awesome Pic!I'm a bit a of a military aviation geek. This definitely appears to be a C-5 Galaxy, which is the largest aircraft to ever fly for the US armed forces and I believe they are the largest currently active military airplane in the world. Very cool to see one over our area! Russia had a bigger one back in the day, the Antanov 225. They're still around but I believe they're now privately owned and operated since the fall of the Soviet Union.Heres more info if anyone's interested:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/C-5_Galaxyhttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Antonov_An-225Any other airplane geeks out there? Dave S
Cool how this topic comes up. I was out coyote hunting yesterday and noticed quite a few "LARGE" aircraft in the skies. The contrails left behind were incredible.Makes me wonder if there was more than just one out flying the MN Skies.

Paul
Looks like our friends from Grand Forks with their new cargo mission. Speaking of the Antonov, there was one that did an emergency landing at Hector field in Fargo a few years ago. I have some 35mm pics somewere around here. That plane was larger than the terminal. The crowd that showed up to see it was amazing also. It was carrying farm equipment to the Ukraine. Had several 4x4 tractors and a coupld of combines in it apprently.
