East metro lakes

Recommended Posts

We're moving back to MN after living in Kansas City for the past three years. There's been some great bass fishing down here, but ready to move home!

Any recommendations on lakes I can start researching in the East Metro? I'll probably be visiting lakes all over the area, but it's always nice to have a couple of close go-to spots.

Also, any BASS clubs in the area?

Thanks all...

Good call, that's a close lake that I'll definitely check out. I can't wait to be able to fish multiple county/state lakes without having to pay! You have to pay at most of the reservoirs down here.

I've only fished lakes, so for some reason the thought of river fishing is overwhelming. Guess I should just get out there and give it a shot.

BTW, you guys have a pretty good forum going here... the topics have been useful and the participation is great.

Welcome to FM. Where in the East Metro will you be living? Bald Eagle is another lake near White Bear that you can get some bass in as well. You can also go to the MN DNR site and look under the Lake Finder section and pull up maps and lake info for almost every lake. I took a friend from Kansas City and his son out to a smaller East Metro lake last summer when they were up to visit and his son pulled out this bass

One my daughter pulled out earlier in the season

Good luck!

Great to have you with us.. Welcome to FishingMinnesota.. I hope your move is unevetful.

way too many great lakes to name in the east metro.. and it depends how far north your willing to go to call it metro.. Here are a quick list of lakes I have fished and had some good success.

White Bear

Bald Eagle

Big Marine

Demontriville

Big Carnieian

Forest Lake

Chisago

N/S Center

Green

E/W Rush

Coon

St.Croix River.

And then... there are a ton of GREAT lakes just across the boarder in WI..

I'm sure I missed a ton, but that should keep you busy

My bassmaster club is always looking for members. Let me know if you would like more information and I can get you in touch with our club director. We fish a variety of lakes around the metro and we are pretty laid back.
