s10 running warm

Recommended Posts

I have a 92 s10, 4.3. Ive had the truck for bout 3 years now, never overhaeted before and a couple of weeks ago i was on my my back to grand forks for school from duluth. i made it about 20 miles out of duluth before it started to run warm so i slowed down to 55 mph and turned on the heat inside, temp would go down. i stopped in floodwood and got a new thermastat(195), put that in and didnt do anything. it usaully would run down the highway at 200-210, but now it will run from 220-230 degrees and in town it will run at normal temps.

water level good, thermostat good, radiater not blocked

the only thing i can think of is a blockage problem somewhere, or the water pump or just a bad temp gauge.

any suggestions would be appreciated, thanks.

My S-10's always ran warm. Usually the A/c Condensor was Dirtier than a pink elephant stuck in the mud. But i also did have a couple water pump problems. My S10 actually runs cooler with the V-8 i put in it than it did with a v-6.
