Lake sakakawea

Recommended Posts

Lake Sakakawea in june the Van Hook arm is tough to beat. There are a few local guys around New Town. If you find the number to the Scenic 23 club in just east of New Town.I believe the owner is a guide. If not he will know someone in the area. He himself fishes pretty much daily.

Call Bonzo or Happ, they both guide out of Garrison on the big lake my dad has known both of them for years, they are 2 of the best guides that know the lake like the back of their hands, Bonzo won the pro-am there 10 years ago or so. Nice guys they will put you on the fish for sure.

Poutpro, I wouldn't bother. The dam is completely shut off and the lake is rising. So, the shoreline ice will be going bad. That is underneath the recent foot or so of new snow making it impossible to see where the ice is real bad. There may be another weather system moving in for Sun/Mon.
