replace auger shaft?

got an old sm auger. can the whole old shaft be replaced with new one?

I don't see why not. You should be able to put a new one on no problem.

I have an old Strike master Mag III that I bent the shaft on a couple years ago. Replaced it with the Laser shaft. Works great. Cuts a hole a lot faster than it used to.

Google them. I was just lookin at Jiffy shafts,they are about 220-260 bucks.1/2 the cost of a new Jiffy seems odd their so much in comparason to the motor & drive.

Don't remember. It was close to the end of the season and GM was closing them out. I want to say one hundred and something but not sure.

Cost for an 8" Laser replacement auger on the Strikemaster web site is $140, 8" chipper is $105. You might be able to find a price better than that depending on where you look for them. The D-rock web site has them listed for about $5 less than Strikemaster if you are looking in the metro area. Remember to include shipping cost when comparing on-line pricing.

call SM see if they will take the old one for partical trade-in. cost you nothing to ask.
