zamboni
Thats one thing I hated about living in Roseville, sitting in traffic and being surrounded by cars with WI tags on them. Over here, working, while all their money heads east every night at 5.
Scott K
I am begining to think this thread is a little off topic! I know, that never happens! Lets try to get back to needing a new stadium, and not get this into all the Cheeseheads taking are money and running
toughguy
Very true we hijacked this thing bigtime.Wouldn't it be great to host an NFC championship in -20 weather? BLOW UP THE DOME!!!!

zamboni
Very true we hijacked this thing bigtime.Wouldn't it be great to host an NFC championship in -20 weather? BLOW UP THE DOME!!!! You say that right up until you have to sit out there for 4 hours+3 hours tailgating!!! The Dome isn't too bad for football, and as far as baseball, not so much
so haaad
The dome is decent for pro football and the prep bowl. It is bad for college football.
CrazyLabs
I paid $10 to park, 3 or 4 blocks away from the dome, for the Eagles game a month ago. I saw signs for $15 and $20 parking, but no $40 parking lots that I saw. There are 2 (I believe) $40 lots which are used for the tailgaters...a little steep, yes, but it's a fun experience. If you get to the dome a bit early, there are quite a few meter spots that are a buck an hour and closer to the dome than most parking ramps. What I wish Minnesota would have figured out is the way that Philly did it. All four major pro sports facilities share 1 huge-a$$ parking lot. I think it's $5-$10 to park and nothing extra to tailgate. A couple times in the fall, you can go to a Philles game and then walk over to the Linc and catch the Eagles. All without getting back into the car. zamboni
Yeah Crazy, same as Kansas City, one huge lot for Royals and Chiefs. Best part, RIGHT next to the interstate.
toughguy
I'm an ice fisherman and deer hunter in living in Minnesota. Trust me I can handle -20 for 3 hours. So can plenty of other Minnesotans. How do you think they do it in Green Bay? For 3-4 cold home games a year we can can do without a roof. We don't need a Superbowl or a Final 4. Just keep the vikings and give us a home field advantage and something to brag about.
FISHINGURU
if you live in MN and can't handle some negative temps for a few hours it's time to pack it up and head on out lol
CrazyLabs
Yeah Crazy, same as Kansas City, one huge lot for Royals and Chiefs. Best part, RIGHT next to the interstate. If access to roads and relief from traffic was prime at a new stadium, would Vikings fans stay for the whole 60 minutes? Now, I might catch a LOT of flack for this, but it has to be said. I have lived in the Twin Cities my entire life. Born and raised on the East Side (St Paul). I am still a die hard Twins fan, and nothing will come between that. HOWEVER, something irks me...I have been to at least 3 Wild games, 2 Vikings games, and a handful of Twins games this past year. At every game, at least 20% OF fans are gone the last 10 minutes of the game. No matter WHAT the score. A couple of the Wild games were actually TIED when people started leaving. In fact, the Vikings were very well still in the game when people started filing out of the Vikings/Eagles game just one month ago.My spouse is from Philly. Although they threaten to boycott their coach, demand a trade of McNabb, and even throw snowballs at fricking Santa Claus, they stay until the end. This makes it hard to justify my "Fan-ness" to the better half.Come on guys. Stay until the end. Support our teams no matter how terrible we think they are. They are OUR teams. Once the black-out threats are WAY in the past and our teams get sell-outs game after game, a stadium deal might come a little easier. But until that happens, the thought of the LA Vikings will be iminent.
toughguy
I totally agree CrazyLab. I drives me nuts too. If your team is getting blown out than fine. Leave early. But there are a good amount of fans that leave early no matter what the score is. I wonder if these people leave with 20 min. left in a movie? What's the point of even going to the game if you leave early just to beat traffic?
Sandmannd
I usually stick around till the end. I figure for what it costs to go see them, I'm staying. I have left early a couple of times though, pre-season Vikes, boooooooring and a couple of huge blowouts on the wolves. If a movie was as bad as the games I left early on, then yea, I walk out.
