Chainsaw "Bogs Out"

I have a Husqvarna 235 e series chainsaw that has hardly been used. Recently, it started "bogging out" when at full throttle. Does anyone have a suggestion or remedy for this? Thanks for the advice.

Had it been sitting for a while and then it didn't run properly when you starting using it recently(again)? Or had it been running fine and the problem started? If the gas is old that may be part of the problem. If it had been sitting there may have been some gas in the carb that "gummed up" the needle(or whatever it may be called). You may have to pull the carb apart a little bit and just get that needle freed up and moving freely.

Have you cleaned or replaced the air filter recently? If it isn't breathing properly WOT may be flooding it out.

99% chance that it's the carb. Rebuild kits are cheap and easy.

Happened on my Husky 55 Rancher. Sitting all summer, bad gas - carb needed cleaning.

Old gas, dirty carb, or high speed adjustment. Try fresh gas then the high speed adjustment.

Don't forget to use a gas stabilizer in your small engine gas year round. This eliminates a ton of carb issues

The non-oxygenated fuel (premium) is good advice. I use it in everything I use intermittently; chainsaw, auger, lawnmower, snowblower, outboards. In my experience, it seems that without the ethanol(and possibly some of the other additives) that the premium gas "keeps" better than "regular".

The Seafoam is another good suggestion. I usually run a little Seafoam through everything we have the burns gasoline. I probably put one can every other month in my truck and one can a month through my wife's car (she puts on about 2,000/month). My wife's car is a 2003, has about 190K and runs like a top (knock on wood). I run about half a can of Seafoam through the oil in the car for 250 - 500 miles before every 3rd oil change. I dump a can of it in my big boat before I store it and every spring when I start it for the first time it starts instantly.

I am a big believer in Seafoam.
