ELECTRIC SOCKS--SOLE INSERTS

Dont waste your money on electric socks. If you do make sure your wearing polypropylene liners. They get your feet really warm, then the batteries go bad. Your left with sweaty feet which will get cold quick when that sweat starts to freeze.

Buy decent boots, wool socks and liners.

buy a better pair of boots. heated socks make you sweat and then the batteries die and bam you have the coldest feet on the lake.. poly linear sox and a good pair of woolies will do much better IMO

Over the years I've bought two pairs of electric socks, and both were complete junk (different brands). I'll never waste my money on that gimmick again.

Although I do like the idea of trying to modify them. If you're connecting them to the Vex battery, how about putting in something that can act as a power limiter to adjust the heat output.

I just added a double layer of the reflective bubble insulation as insoles in the bottom of my boots, under the liner. Reflects the heat back to the foot, and makes the walking more comfortable too. Made a difference for snow blowing, and I expect it will be better on the ice too.
