Red Green CB is almost 6% of all guys and a lesser % of women. Very common in guys. We CB's learn to cope with it and for some the CB is far more pronounced then in others. For me at least is very dependent on lighting and eye strain, contrasts of colors bleed together, making color identification very difficult or imposable. It is a difficult thing to explain to somebody with 100% color acuity, and the misconceptions are wide to what it is. Many guys never bring it up because we don't want to get crude about it...sound familiar to anyone? wink Monochrome flashers and VPG's often became the tool of choice for CB guys/galls...because...well..it worked for them.

They say there is no fix for CB so we each look for whatever benefit in technology we can gain to offset it in our own lives. In looking for this test deal I also stumbled onto software that will make someones computer display more CB friendly...thought that was preaty sweat too..never new that existed tell now so I may try it...like what's to loose right.

The deal is we are born with it and we just think it's the way things are, tell we get tested, and or stumble onto the fact..hay..other folks see stuff differently then I do...what da heck?

Older guys/galls like me may appreciate this...A second grade teacher of mine got irate with me...I had everything all messed up on a color project of some type and she went off on me...I still remember it well...She told me there was no such thing as Color Blindness..I just needed to try harder...I was just..(Get this).."Color Stupid". Man...that really freaked me out at the time because..heck...I knew I was not messing with her but she was convinced I was. Thank God those days are gone and more training and better teachers screen for it so kids don't get a darn complex about it and get called Color Stupid....That teacher still ticks me off...LOL!

Long story short, I pushed preaty hard for Vexilar to offer the Cool Blue package for Color Stupid ..Ah..I mean...Color Blind guys/galls like myself. We coped for years, but we were missing out on a big part of the benefit of a Flasher due to our personal limitations. If non CB folks find it cool to use, all the better, Cool Blue is Kewl...we all like Kewl. But for those of us who need it...man it is a big revolution.

I guess I may get over zealous with my recommending it because it is very significant to me personally, and I want others who deal with CB to know...we now have a new tool to help us in the field.

Since there were a few more questions on CB and what the test means here is the link for the complete test and all the parameters they commonly test for.

The Ishihara Color Blindness Test.

CB Historical Factoid: During WW II the Allied forces used CB solders for a specific recon tasks, CB individuals had the uncanny ability to spot well camouflaged troupe implements far better then normal vision GI's, so they utilized them in recon on aerial recon and the like. CB guys were not as fooled by the color camouflage schemes and could pick out the contrasts and incongruous shapes.

    • got this tackled today took about 3 hours to get both sides done. Didnt even get to use a torch....   Thought I was golden with just jacking it up and I could get to everything but no luck. Had to remove the entire axle hub and brake assembly to get to what I needed. Was a pain but still better then taking off the entire pivot arm.    Axle bearings were already greased and in great shape thankfully. Got both leaf springs installed and its ready for the road again.   Probably going to have my electric brakes checked, I am not touching anything with the brake drums. Based on what I saw it doesn't look like my electric brakes have been working anyway. Brakes are nice to have if its slippery out
    • By The way that didn't work either!! Screw it I'll just use the cellular.
    • It’s done automatically.  You might need an actual person to clear that log in stuff up.   Trash your laptop history if you haven’t tried that already.
    • 😂 yea pretty amazing how b o o b i e s gets flagged, but they can't respond or tell me why I  can't get logged in here on my laptop but I can on my cellular  😪
    • I grilled some brats yesterday, maybe next weekend will the next round...
    • You got word censored cuz you said        B o o b ies….. haha.   Yeah, no… grilling is on hiatus for a bit.
    • Chicken mine,  melded in Mccormick poultry seasoning for 24 hours.  Grill will get a break till the frigid temps go away!
    • we had some nice weather yesterday and this conundrum was driving me crazy  so I drove up to the house to take another look. I got a bunch of goodies via ups yesterday (cables,  winch ratchet parts, handles, leaf springs etc).   I wanted to make sure the new leaf springs I got fit. I got everything laid out and ready to go. Will be busy this weekend with kids stuff and too cold to fish anyway, but I will try to get back up there again next weekend and get it done. I don't think it will be bad once I get it lifted up.    For anyone in the google verse, the leaf springs are 4 leafs and measure 25 1/4" eye  to eye per Yetti. I didnt want to pay their markup so just got something else comparable rated for the same weight.   I am a first time wheel house owner, this is all new to me. My house didn't come with any handles for the rear cables? I was told this week by someone in the industry that cordless drills do not have enough brake to lower it slow enough and it can damage the cables and the ratchets in the winches.  I put on a handle last night and it is 100% better than using a drill, unfortatenly I found out the hard way lol and will only use the ICNutz to raise the house now.
