This morning I shot a yote at approx 250 yards. It jumped and ran. It went over a hill so I hopped in my truck and drove down the field road approx a 1/4 mile. I hooked up my spotting scope on the window and started to scan the field. Wella, ther it layed so I got out of the truck to go and pick it up. I got within 30 yards and it got up and ran away but its hind quarter wasn't doing so well and it got into a large swamp.

I then got into the truck and drove back towards the road on the field road and here was another sitting about a 100 yards away by a swamp edge. I pulled up and layeth the smackdown on that one and that one did not get away.

Those buggers are tough ones at times.

Yes, I do have a license to shoot from a vechile.

Had a similar experience last week. Managed to shoot one running at about 200 yards. It went down hard. I walked out to get it, reached to grab it's foot, and it snarled, spun around, and tried to bite me. It was hit through the hips or spine far back, so it's hind end was immobilized. It was also hit again low in the front shoulder, so it wasn't going anywhere, but it still needed to be finished off. Yeah, they can be tough buggers. Lesson learned--always bring your gun along for the follow up. I need exercise, but not that bad!
