Lowrance H20 Waypoint Symbol

buzbunni

Question

I'm sure that there is an easy solution to this, but I've looked back and forth throughout the H20 Manual, and I can't seem to figure out how to choose a default symbol when saving a waypoint?

When I decide to save a waypoint I get the "fish" symbol. No big deal, as I'm usually angling when I'm using the H20, but for those times when I would like to use another symbol as the default....how do I select that? (note: I do know how to edit/change the symbol after it has been saved, what I'm looking for is symbol selection should I use quicksave, etc. I don't want the fish symbol first off everytime.)

Thanks all.

If you hold down the save button for a longer period of time, it should pop up. I don't have mine right in front of me, but I;m pretty sure that's how it works. Just gotta hold that button down until the symbols show up. Let me know if I'm right.

to change the icon. when you save a way point, you have choices in the save function. you have - go to, find on map, edit name, and edit symbol. you can edit the symbol even after you have saved your way point. so you can save it later with a different icon when you are at home.

so, you have place to save.. you press Enter/ save. the screen changes to the screen showing your position with the choices. press the arrow key to the left or right. it will give you the options I mentioned above. save according to your choice.

I like my H2O. except it has to stay warm . The only thing about the H2O is if you want to check the time it won't tell you unless it has a signal. A garmine will tell you time it is with just turning it on even if it hasn't found your position.
