Beginners pictures (apples)

My wife and I finally broke down and picked up a better camera than our little point and shoot Kodak. I really enjoy taking pictures and reading and looking at the pictures on this forum (Thanks everyone) I have a lot to learn, so many buttons and settings I've been playing around with the camera, taking some pictures of apples in the yard. Here are a few:

Hey, cool! I especially like the pretty ambient light on the crabapple closeup, and of course pics of kids are a great reason to upgrade to a DSLR. Sweet stuff, ran.
